Matte white exterior and uncoated satin steel interior with a magenta bead-blasted steel ANTIPEDESTAL.

This version of the INTROVERT 145_5 REFLECTOR bounces pink-toned light off the surface of a custom-coated steel disk - the magenta ANTIPEDESTAL. 

During daytime, or in bright ambient light, the effect is a soft blushed glow washing over the matte white surface of the steel luminaire. Over the course of the day, or as ambient light decreases, pink reflections from the ANTIPEDESTAL grow ever more saturated and spread throughout space. Highest colour saturation is reached in full darkness. 

The ANTIPEDESTAL has an intense colour coating that ranges from magentas and purples to coppers, corals, and reds based on viewing angle and light conditions. No two pictures of this ANTIPEDESTAL can be the same - its effects and incarnations are endless. Hit by warm light, it makes the luminaire appear like a hearth or an ever evolving sunset in the room. A cooler bulb brings out magentas and purples. Read more on bulb temperatures in the technical specifications below.

The disk is blasted with spherical glass beads to limit glare. This surface treatment produces a velvety, highly refractive finish which intensifies light colour and spreads it throughout space in a uniform diffusion.

• Premium grade satin stainless steel.
• White matte polyester coated exterior/ uncoated interior.
• Laser-cut, hand made.

The steel alloy used is a highly specialized industrial material. It does not come with protective laser cutting and anti-scratch foil typical for decorative sheet and plate steel products. While every care is taken to ensure the perfect look of each steel sheet, occasional minor traces of industrial processing may occur. They are usually minuscule and are inherent in the character of the lamp - a robust sculpted structure that combines the industrial with the fine-tailored.

ANTIPEDESTAL 

COMPONENT CODE: AP01

• Stainless steel, custom-made in Italy. 
• Magenta-to-copper colour range based on viewing angle, ambient light and bulb temperature in lamp. 
• Glass bead-blasted for ani-glare/ high light diffusion properties 
• Fits comfortably on standard countertop furniture with 600mm / 24 in. depth. 
• Anti-scratch & anti-slip neoprene padding on underside.
• Comes with separate neoprene guide for easy centering of lamp during installation.
• Dimensions: Ø 490 mm / 19.3 in.; thickness 0.8mm / 1/32 in.

The Magenta ANTIPEDESTAL is laser-cut from a large steel plate. The colour is achieved over a 5 weeks' coloration process that creates a coating which is not completely uniform in tint. Depending on what part of the plate is cut, some ANTIPEDESTALS may have warmer or cooler hues and no two will be exactly the same.

COMPONENT CODE: FS01

• LIGHTCORE & ANCHOR - CNC milled aircraft grade aluminium. Highest standard cosmetic surface finishing, bead-blasted for a velvety finish, clear matte anodized. 
• LIGHTCORE outfitted with soft silicone ring to sink snugly inside lamp. Change bottom bulb by gently lifting the LIGHTCORE to access bottom socket and secure back in position.
• Optional in matte white polyester finish or matte white polyester + micro silver metal flake. 
• Silk-screened markings. Engraving optional.

LAMPING

• LIGHTCORE upper bulb – E27 LED globe bulbs, dimmable.

Best with bulbs of high lumen counts. Identical bulb temperatures render the lamp a more unified sculpture, while different bottom and top bulb temperatures create the sensation of two different light sources or a composition of colours. Bulb temperature affects the colour appearance of the ANTIPEDESTAL. Pictured here with:

ROPE/ CABLING:

• Premium dock line polyester braided rope, 2 x 3000 mm (3 m) / 2 x 120 in. (10 ft.) segments. Custom lengths upon request. 
• Colors: white & silver. 

A specially developed technique is used to reconstruct the ropes after cores are removed for cabling in order to recover characteristic weight, round cross section, and taut braiding that doesn’t deform or collapse with twisting.  

HANDLING & MAINTENANCE:

1. Avoid handling and moving lamp excessively. Move & handle according to instructions in enclosed manual. 
2. Dust regularly & lightly with dry anti-static cloth, Swiffer pad, or contact-less pressurized air dusters. 
3. In case of staining, white coated surfaces could be easily washed with warm wet cloth and/ or mild detergent.  
4. Uncoated steel surfaces as well as colored stainless steel surfaces of the anti-pedestals are not fingerprint protected. Anti-fingerprint coatings dull true color saturation and reflective/ refractive properties. All uncoated surfaces are vulnerable to fingerprints and oil/ grease absorption. Each lamp purchase includes handling gloves to help protect product during installation or any future handling. Please handle with gloves per instructions in enclosed manual.  
5. To remove fingerprints from uncoated surfaces wipe gently with glass detergent. Follow with cloth soaked and well-wrung out of hot water. Buff immediately with dry cloth to absorb moisture. This helps avoid foggy residue. Important! Use gentle motion and always follow lamp curvature.  
6. For persistent stains use same procedure as 5. but replace glass detergent with acetone.  
7. For best results use microfiber cloths. They are an excellent buffing textile and do not shed lint. 
8. Important! Keep away from silicone-based lubricants.  
9. Important! Keep away from hand moisturizers and lotions. 
10. Important! Do not use stainless steel waxes or any stainless steel polishing products. Waxes and polishers fill up the pores of uncoated steel surfaces and build up dull residue over time. Such products are intended for surfaces and appliances that have industrial coatings and are meant to be cleaned aggressively.  
11. Aluminium lamping set components are anodized and are not fingerprint sensitive. 
12. Rope cannot be washed.
